The Challenge

The homeowners in this 1990s Whitney Ranch home had a dated fiberglass tub-shower combo that was difficult to step into and visually outdated. The cramped shower area felt closed off, and the cultured marble vanity and brass fixtures made the entire bathroom feel stuck in the past. They wanted a modern, accessible shower that would serve them well as they aged in place while dramatically updating the bathroom's appearance.

Our Solution

We removed the old tub-shower combo and installed a zero-threshold curbless walk-in shower with a custom linear drain system. The shower features large-format marble-look porcelain tile on walls and floor, a frameless glass panel for an open feel, a built-in tiled niche with accent mosaic tile, and a fold-down teak bench seat. We re-sloped the subfloor for proper drainage and installed a complete Schluter waterproofing system to protect against moisture. The result is a spa-like shower that's both beautiful and fully accessible.
