Before & After

The Challenge
This Cameron Park bathroom had an old tub-and-shower combination partly enclosed by a half wall, with dated fixtures and a single ceiling light. The homeowners wanted a walk-in shower that was easier to step into and looked current.
Our Solution
We removed the tub and rebuilt the space as a walk-in shower. The walls are large-format marble-look porcelain with a full-height hex marble mosaic accent wall, a recessed niche, and a brushed nickel handheld with a grab bar beside it. A frameless sliding glass door on a top-mounted track encloses the shower without a bulky frame.

Questions About This Cameron Park Project
Why an accent wall instead of tiling every wall the same?
A single wall of hex marble mosaic gives the shower a focal point without the cost of mosaic on all three walls. The other walls are large-format marble-look porcelain, which has fewer grout lines and is quicker to clean.
Is a frameless sliding door better than a hinged door?
It depends on the bathroom. A sliding door needs no swing clearance, so it suits a shower that faces a toilet or vanity. Frameless glass on a top-mounted track also has no bottom track to collect water and grime.
Who issues permits in Cameron Park?
Cameron Park is unincorporated, so permits and inspections are handled by El Dorado County Building Services.
