Before & After

The Challenge
Two tired bathrooms in the same Folsom house: a hall bath with a curtained tub, a laminate vanity and vinyl floor, and a second bath with a small corner stall with frosted doors and carpet running right up to the shower curb. The homeowners wanted both done at once with a consistent finish so the house reads as one remodel, not two.
Our Solution
In the hall bath we replaced the tub and finished the surround in marble-look porcelain with a frameless sliding glass door, then installed a white shaker vanity with a quartz top, a new toilet and a marble-look porcelain floor. In the second bath the corner stall was rebuilt as a neo-angle shower with the same marble-look porcelain, a framed glass enclosure and a new toilet, and the carpet was replaced with the same marble-look floor tile. Both rooms share one tile, one vanity style and one fixture finish.

Questions About This Folsom Project
Is it cheaper to remodel two bathrooms at the same time?
It is usually more efficient. One set of demolition, material deliveries, inspections and crew mobilization covers both rooms, and ordering the same tile and vanity style for both bathrooms simplifies the material list.
What is a neo-angle shower?
A corner shower with a flat front and two angled sides, forming five walls in total. It fits a small corner while giving more standing room than a square stall of the same footprint.
Why was the carpet removed in the second bathroom?
Carpet in a bathroom holds moisture and cannot be sanitized. It was replaced with the same marble-look porcelain used in the hall bath.
